The Peabody
"The Peabody was named after William Frank Peabody, a controversial N.Y. police lieutenant from around 1915 who loved to dance. It was basically a unique, jaunty type fast foxtrot, done to ragtime music. The Peabody is based around a dance position (called the 'English') where due to officer Peabody's huge size he had to dance with his partners from side to side. It is kind of a corny little ragtime dance, that is lively and fun to watch."
